Alltel has $27.5 billion reasons to smile

May 21, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I take a 5 day blogging hiatus and look what happens in the wireless world – go Alltel.

Although I’m hardly providing breaking news, Andrew Farrell’s Forbes.com article is worth repeating here:

Goldman Sachs and TPG apparently nab wireless-provider Alltel in a $27.5 billion takeover.

Wow, that’s pricey.

Maybe that’s what high cash flow, low debt, and a history of strong performance will get you these days.

So, what do you think that means for the other rural providers?
