We are currently looking for a Traffic & AFP Engineers:

Description of responsibilities:
Frequency planning and traffic management functions for 2G (Siemens) and 3G (Lucent) RAN
• SCA data collection for IM/AFP, update neighbor lists, activate measurements, download logs, process with LMT tool, import in AFP and true up IM
• Utilize the AFP tool to produce optimal frequency plans per direction provided
• Complete provisioning WO’s (freq plan) for new sites
• Monitor capacity using appropriate tool set, issue growth WOs as applicable
• Support traffic forecasting requirements
• Support optimization activities (local retunes0

Experience & skills required:
• Excellent RF Skills
• Hands on experience with ACP/AFP
• Good knowledge of GSM/EDGE/UMTS
• Excellent communication skills
• Multi vendor experience for GSM and UMTS
• Good project management skills
• Should be able to work directly with the client

Education required (minimum): BSEE

Start Date: Immediate

Physical Layer Embedded Software Developer – RIM

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be part of a team focused on the development and integration of leading-edge radio protocol stack software for standardized wireless technologies. The position will involve design, implementation, integration and testing of radio protocol software at Physical Layer. Understanding of radio physical layer control, signal processing, interaction between physical layer and upper layers (RRC, RLC, MAC) is essential. The candidate will be responsible for investigating and resolving integration and performance related issues for the DSP and mixed signal hardware.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum five (5) years experience in embedded software development wireless system physical layer software in C/C++

2 years experience in developing UMTS dual-mode physical layer SW.

L1 baseband control signaling, scheduling of signal processing tasks and interfacing to RF HW.

Modular, layered software design experience either on DSP or MCU

Real-time OS firmware development environment and debugging on multi-processor hardware architectures

Experience in embedded development, simulation, test tools and languages

Familiarity with 3GPP standards, particularly those related to UMTS radio protocol.

Ability to supervise junior engineers for design validation activities.
Experience in protocol stack integration, lab and field testing of L1 would be a definite asset.
Requires BSEE/CS, MSEE/CS a plus.

Responsibilities:
·Lead a team of 15+ applications engineers (Includes internal and external applications engineers)

·Set goals and objectives
·Mentor and train
·Develop best practices
·Direct new product efinition/development activities
·Visit customers about 20% of the time to discuss system and IC requirements ·Compile information regarding market segments and customer needs
·Lead a team that writes the Objective Specifications for new devices
·Select new product ideas for development
·Work with Business Management and Design throughout product development cycle
·Identify adjacent or emerging markets·Secure design-ins
·Train field applications
·Visit key customers
·Write articles/applications notes
·Provide reference design and customer design support
·Set Technology Roadmaps for Process, IP, and Packaging
·Analyze the competition to determine areas of focus, direction, and relative strengths and weaknesses

Qualifications:
·A BSEE degree is required. A MSEE or PhdEE is desired.
·7 to 10 years of professional experience in the wireless/RF semiconductor industry
·Competitive nature and a desire to win
·Team-oriented with good leadership and communication skills
·Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking mode and to maintain a sense of priorities while responding to daily interruptions
